What is Drama Therapy Student Research?    

Drama therapy student research focuses on student theses and dissertations published through any one of the six NADTA drama therapy graduate programs.

Members of the NADTA Student References Updating committee or any member of the global drama therapy community may use this form to nominate drama therapy student theses or dissertations to be added to the NADTA student references database. 

Inclusion criteria is as follows:

  • Centers Drama Therapy
  • Submitted through any one of the six NADTA graduate drama therapy program (i.e Antioch University, California Institute of Integral Studies, Concordia University,  Lesley University, Kansas State University,  New York University)
    • OR
  • Written by a drama therapy student in the AT program who previously submitted a graduate thesis or dissertation that centers drama therapy 

Below are references to drama therapy student research, organized by theme, and collected by the North American Drama Therapy Association (NADTA) Student Research Committee.     

The research references in this list have been viewed by a member of the NADTA research committee. The committee confirmed that the research referenced was submitted by a drama therapy graduate student and focuses on drama therapy or drama therapy processes/techniques.     

This list can be a starting point for learning about drama therapy and drama therapy research. Researchers may choose to use this list to identify areas of research that call for further exploration, to get ideas for their own research projects, and to connect their own work to previous research.

This compilation of references is not exhaustive, and the committee has been limited by the availability of and access to original sources.
